Our story

A small studio built around three voices.

Gauntlet was founded by Ines Silva and Genevieve Bethley as a women-led alternative to the typical street shop — calmer, more considered, and built around the artistic voices of the people who work here. Dani Stammschroer joined the studio in August 2021.

Our work spans neotraditional and ornamental colour from Inez, illustrative realism and bright character work from Genny, and fine dotwork and stippling from Dani. Different lineages, one shared standard.

We work by appointment only, in a single, quiet studio at 150 King St. West. The door is locked while we work — call when you arrive and we'll let you in.

Booking

How a Gauntlet booking works.

Books open periodically — not constantly. Two ways to know when an artist's books open.

  1. 01

    Pick your artist

Read each artist's page. The work and style decide who's right for your idea.

  2. 02

    Watch for books-open

Subscribe to the newsletter (we email when an artist opens) or follow each artist on Instagram for stories and posts.

  3. 03

    Email your enquiry

When their books open, send a clear reference deck, placement, size, and dates that work for you.

  4. 04

    Confirm with a deposit

A deposit secures your appointment and comes off the final price. Day-of, you bring photo ID.
